Hi there my name is Cheryl owner and operator of FUR A WALK. My love and passion for dogs started at a very young age as I was always begging my parents to get a puppy. One weekend my family and I were visiting my aunt in London, Ontario and it just so happened that the neighbour next door had a litter of puppies. Well I immediately fell in love with one in particular and told my dad I wasn't going home until he let me take one of the puppies with us. My dad of course couldn't resist and told me I could bring her home. We decided to name her Tippy as she was part Collie and Shepherd mix and had this very unique white tip on the end of her tail. And so my journey for rescuing dogs began. Over the last 35 years I have rescued many dogs in order to give them not only a better home, but the life they deserve full of love, compassion and lots of cuddles. I have a sign as you walk thru my front door that says " Dogs welcome...people tolerated". As my passion for rescuing dogs grew over the years, I decided to retire early from my government job so I could follow my dream and start my own dog walking business. The incredibly handsome grey mastiff that you see in the pic to your right and below, he was my most recent rescue. His name was Hurley and he was 6 months old when I rescued him. Hurley was the love of my life of course next to my kid JD. Hurley passed away suddenly on January 26, 2019 at the young age of 8 years. The vet said he had a degenerative heart disease that was undetected and there was no way of knowing this would happen. I was devastated...my heart was broken and I wasn't sure if I could go thru with my future plan as a dog walker. It's been tough, I'm not going to lie, but I know in my heart that I have so much more love to give. I need to do this for Hurley, he was my best friend and he would want me to carry on with my dream.
So here I am, excited to start on this new adventure ...always prepared fur your furry friends' needs and ensure they will receive the best love and care possible. Their happiness and care is my priority and I will strive to provide a service I would want my own fur baby to receive. I will love them like they are my own. I'm insured, bonded and have my certification in Pet First Aid.
I just want to thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website and considering me to help take care of your furry friends. Looking furward to meeting you and your fur baby.
Thank your from the bottom of my heart...the passionate dog lady,
Cheryl
